--Grand Opening of Taicang T&W Phase II Project
At 10:30 of October 18, a grand commencement ceremony for Taicang T&W Phase II Project was held on the project site with the presence of more than 250 people, including Wang Jianfeng (Major and Deputy Secretary of Taicang Municipal Party Committee), Zhu Wanli (Vice Mayor and Director of the Administrative Committee of the New District), Wang Dawei (Chairman of the Company), Tang Fonan (General Manager), personnel at managerial level and above from Shenzhen T&W, Shanghai T&W, and Taicang T&W as well as staff representatives of Taicang T&W.
In the beginning of the ceremony, Chairman Wang delivered a speech, in which he on behalf of the company expressed a warm welcome to all leaders from Taicang Municipal Party Committee and Municipal Government and made a brief introduction to Phase II Project. Phase II project covers a construction area of 136,000 square meters, including 2# Main Parts Workshop, 2# Administrative Building, activity center, dormitory and supporting facilities. The warehouse of 2# Main Parts Workshop is expected to be completed by the end of 2013, and the main workshop, administration building, dormitory and the supporting facilities will be fully completed by the end of 2014. By then, it will become an advanced modern industrial park integrating production, living, entertainment and recreation. To ensure smooth construction, Chairman Wang will serve as the leader of the project team.
On behalf of Taicang Municipal Party Committee and Taicang Municipal Government, Mayor Wang extended warm congratulations on the successful commencement of the project in his speech, where he expressed his wish that Taicang T&W would take this ceremony as a new starting point, strive to achieve early completion, early operation and early benefit while ensuring the quality of construction so as to provide more and better products and services to domestic and international markets and seize a larger market share and gain greater economic benefits, he also promised that Taicang Municipal Party Committee and Municipal Government would continue to provide all assistance for the development of T&W and do their best efforts to meet its needs in construction and operation.
Mr. Tang, General Manager of Shenzhen T&W, gave his thanks to the guests in his speech and provided an overview and detailed picture of the future development of ShenzhenT&W and Taicang T&W. At the commencement ceremony, Mayor Wang , Director Zhu, Chairman Wang , General Manager Tang jointly pushed the button of pile press machine for the project, marking the official start of the construction.
After the formal commencement, I interviewed Zhang Guoji, manager of Taicang T&W Production Plant, and Xu Xin, infrastructure investment director and deputy leader of the project team. The former said that the software and hardware facilities in the park were expected to be comprehensive after completion so as to keep pace with the rapid development of Taicang T&W, and showed confidence and resolution in building Taicang T&W into a world-class manufacturing center of high-end products, and the latter added that the construction of Phase II would adhere to high starting point, high standard and high level, and conduct full-process strict management on the construction site with quality in the priority through close communication and coordination with the infrastructure division, the supervision company and the construction company.
It is reported, after the commencement ceremony, the construction had been proceeding smoothly under the inspiring slogan of "Fighting for 60 Days". As an important step in the Company's long-term strategic development plan, Taicang T&W Industrial Park will open a new page in the Company's history.
